Bret has always enjoyed working with people along with a keen interest in Finance. In 1993, he moved his family to Sequim, took employment with a local tax service firm and as a Registered Representative with Financial Network Investment Corporation. It was there that Bret laid the foundation for his financial skill set with investments and tax.
Bret started Strait Financial Advice in 2003, as an independent financial services firm, focused solely on serving the needs of its individual clients. In 2005, Lori Wyngaert joined Strait Financial Advice as a Registered Assistant and brought with her a wealth of experience in providing investment support developed since 1988.
For the last 20 years Bret has been working with retirees and those preparing for retirement, helping clients focus on what’s most important to them and how to achieve those goals. Bret excels at creating investment solutions and finding tax opportunities, which are specific to each client’s unique situation.

Bret Keehn is President of Strait Financial Advice, Inc. founded in 2003.
Bret moved to Sequim in 1993 to raise his family in a “high-quality of life” community. 30 years later…mission accomplished with four grown, successful children! Bret has owned and operated Strait Financial Advice for the last 20 years and enjoys working with clients in the pursuit of their financial goals. He is passionate about helping others achieve financial independence and pursuing a life well lived.
Bret believes in “Service Above Self” and is a current member of the Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club. One of
his favorite positions was Youth Exchange Officer for the Youth Exchange Program, which allows high school students to experience life and school in a foreign country with support of the local Rotary club.
He is also a past President of the Sequim Dungeness Chamber of Commerce.
Bret enjoys the quality of life in Sequim with his family. Playing golf and tennis have been long life passions.
Bret holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing from CSU Sacramento. Securities
qualifying examinations for registration which include Series 7, 63, 24 and 65; Life & Health insurance license and 10 years of tax planning and preparation.
Lori Wyngaert
Lori is the Investment Operations Manager at Strait Financial Advice. She wears many hats to help clients with their accounts and needs, and to make things run smoothly in the office.
She grew up in West Seattle and graduated from West Seattle High School where she participated in basketball, softball and two swim teams.
Lori entered the investment side of banking in 1988 and worked in a variety of positions, including branch administration and compliance, with several leading national wealth management firms.
In 2005, Lori moved to Sequim for her husband's work and a slower pace of life and found employment with Strait Financial Advice.
Lori is a genuine Northwest girl and enjoys camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, boating, gardening, golf
and travel. She is a member of the Cedars at Dungeness Women’s Golf Association since 2005.
